The Top Flite Gold Edition Giant P-40 Warhawk ARF is an IMAA-legal replica of Colonel Claire Channault’s “Flying Tigers” squadron at the onset of World War II. The P-40 Warhawk had one of the most impressive kill-to-loss ratios of any Allied fighter plane and the Top Flite P-40 Warhawk is equally impressive. Because camouflage was the most popular P-40 trim scheme, it has been faithfully reproduced on this model using matte finish MonoKote® covering on the built-up balsa and ply sections with paint being used on the fiberglass parts. The Top Flite P-40 Warhawk ARF features many scale details not found on other giant-scale P-40′s: Features like a detailed cockpit with instrumentation and split flaps which are ribbed like the full-size P-40. In fact, the Top Flite Giant P-40 Warhawk is modeled after a restored full-size P-40E owned and flown by Rudy Frasca of Frasca International in Urbana, Illinois. Read the rest of this entry

Revell has the perfect aircraft for pilots who are ready to move beyond coaxial helis: the Proto MAX. Like the original Proto CX, the Proto Max is ready-to-fly straight from the box and designed to give the upwardly mobile pilots the power and the agility to learn new flying skills and enjoy more aerobatic flying. The Proto MAX eases the transition from dual-rotor stability to single-rotor aerobatics with two special features. The first is a heading-hold gyro, which helps keeps the Proto MAX on the heading the pilot wants. The second is a dual-rate switch on the transmitter. Setting it on low rates makes Proto MAX handling slow and easy, giving the pilot more time to think and react. And once the pilot is comfortable on the sticks, the switch can be set to high rates, which allows the pilot to enjoy the full range of Proto MAX performance. The Proto MAX is as complete as it is user-friendly. The motor and radio gear are already installed, and the charger for the flight pack is built right into the transmitter. Once the pilot adds four “AA” cells, it’s time to go flying! Read the rest of this entry
